Massacre at Marikana: the fight continues in South Africa

Mineworkers of the Marikana diamond mine in South Africa are continuing their strike. Their perseverence comes after violent police efforts to suppress the strike, efforts culminating in a horrendous bloodbath on 16 August, when police machinegunned protesting miners, killing 34 and arresting at least 250 of them.

Interview with Kent Anarchists

Kent Anarchists are a new local group trying to find their feet, obviously, in Kent - of all places. They recently put out a number requests for contacts and are running a regularly updated blog, Joe Maguire had chance to ask them a few things for the Freedom paper.

The folly of voting

The following is a leaflet entitled, ‘The Folly of Voting’. It was published by Freedom Press in 1904. There is a small, faint photocopy of it in the first issue of ‘The Raven’ in 1987, but unfortunately it is not clear enough to be scanned and blown up. As it is unlikely an electronic version exists, and as I have far too much time on my hands, I have typed the whole thing out, for your reading pleasure.
