Leamington Peace Festival

Should have posted this a while ago, but was busy and forgot...

Leamington Peace Festival is on 19th and 20th June ( http://www.peacefestival.org.uk/ ) and i think it would be worth WMA doing a stall there, especially as lots of activist type people from around the Midlands tend to be there (and there are also decent bands and lots of drug stuff stalls, so it would be a fun weekend as well).

I know the guys who organise it, and i have the offer of a stall for WMA and/or the Leamington Spark (if it has got going again by then). Tim (the bloke who does the stalls) said he would sort it, so i gave him the public (wmanarchists@email.com) email address to contact us.

Also i think it's a good date as it's just after the end of uni and college exam season so (i am guessing) ppl ought to have a bit more time by then (my last exam is on the 14th)...

Are ppl up for it?

Ive been to this the past few years and yeh its pretty cool. I fyou have money to spend its even better cause as reble said there is loadsa great stalls, including a big AK press one.

I think the sunday would be the best day for the stall personaly, because more people can do sundays. Before you comment GT; there is a big difference between a festival and a boring meeting on a comedown. tongue

I'm going to do a serious necromancy attempt on it as soon as my exams are over.

Just found out i have to do twice as many exams as i thought, because Warwick Uni are bastards and didn't tell me this. Luckily i don't actually have to revise any new stuff, i am just getting examined in the same modules twice, but still angry

they will still be over by the peace festival tho...

I will send a message to the Spark egroup to make sure it doesn't get deleted tho, just as a test...

We've got a stall for Sunday (table provided). Not sure about exact pitch location, think they are fairly randomly allocated altho i asked for us to be near AK Press if they are coming this year (not sure whether they are or not)...

Who has the stall stuff? I seem to remember whoever it was saying at the last meeting that they had to get rid of it - if so it would make sense for me to take it off whoever it is, as i live in leamington and our next stall will be there...

Sorry, haven't been on the net much for a while, had exams, last one is tomorrow morning...

Spoke to one of the organising ppl yesterday and she reckons it starts around 9am, wasn't 100% sure cos she is doing workshops rather than stalls but i couldn't get hold of the guy who does stalls. From my experience tho (Leamington STWC stall last year) we'll be fine if we just turn up sometime in the morning tho... i don't think it matters if we are a bit late, it's a pretty chilled out affair...

They have sorted us out with a table, we just need to put stuff on it...

you brum lot can stay over at mine if you want to come down on the sat (i think there will be quite a lot of ppl in my house on saturday night... black bloc ) coming down on sat's probably easier cos you can dump the stuff at my house and i'll be at the festival on the sat anyway... smile

9 would be good, but if possible, 9 GMT, not AST (anarchist standard time).

we are officially in the programme now smile

on stall 119a, which we are sharing with Coventry Peace House, Impact News, Radical Routes, Stop the War Coalition and Zapatista Support Group (don't worry, it's a big stall... and some of those groups are the same people... it's helpfully labelled on the map "Campaign Corner")...

do u lot want me to meet u at the station (the park the festival is in is about 5 mins walk from the station)? what time does your train get here?

whats the stall like, is it tented? outside?

just wondering whether its worth bringing my ''beach tent'' ((not as daft as it sounds tongue )) its just a little pop up thing, which is good for chilling in if things get a bit ''hectic'' wink

yes, if you could meet us it would be good. train times:

if we get the 9.10 one we'll arrive at 9.46, but knowing us we'll miss it and get the 9.45 one which arrives at 10.21. we'll give you a ring when we're on the train though, to let you know we're on our way.
