the argument is based on the christian concept of god (or at least how bakunin saw it), and he wrote a big thing about how if god is everything, then it logically follows that we are nothing and worthless, and that god is therefore the ultimate authority from which the concept of all other forms of authority flow. i'm not entirely sure if i agree with that for some personal cases, but generally from the cases of belief in god that i've come across, i have to agree with old beardy there.
