Climate Change:
Product of globalized capitalism and subject of debate between the states that organize it

Science reports: The warming of the earth by greenhouse gases is measurable, the consequences catastrophic.
The media is unanimous: The cause is not worldwide capitalistic growth, which for decades has used the atmosphere as a free garbage dump, but "humans."
The states draw up balance sheets for the national implications: This time it is not humanity that is the most prominent victim of climate change, but business: “a price tag of 1.8 percent of U.S. GDP, or almost $1.9 trillion annually (in today’s dollars) by 2100” (National Resources Defense Council).
The competition rages between states: Who can prevail between Washington, Beijing & Berlin as spokesperson for the climate debate? Who can burden other nations with the costs of climate protection, not weakening their own competitive position, but enhancing it?
While humans, edified by the media, plant small saplings for each flight or car trip or soothe their bad consciences by making donations to reforestation projects, the major contributors to CO2 production work on their own less ecological project. The sources of fossil fuels are not only finite, but increasingly insecure as a result of the USA’s global war on terror. A crisis-free foundation for national energy independence must be found – of course, in the name of global climate change and the affected humanity.
