Im from the area and i know of about 3 other anarchists and a few communists...any one want to start a group or even better a movement
yeah sure....are you from the area
Hi
Yes I am in the Exeter area.
cool...are you just a believer in communism or are you an activitist. Because i'm an activitist through anarchy graffiti and posters etc.
Hi
I would consider myself both, but no I do not do graffiti. If you are thinking about a group 'doing more' than dicussing and being activist then I think we are thinking along different lines. I think there a few people about who are interested in discussing what is the best way free humanity from the nightmare of capitalism, but with different ideas of what activity should be. Does that mean that they should not get together to discuss, because they may disagree on what activity should be. The central criteria should be a desire to clarify about what proletarain politics are. What do you think
Even if we are thinking along different lines we still have the same "beliefs"...so this can be a forum for anyone in the area to dicuss politics and if anyone comes along and wants to go further then that'll be cool...but im happy just to dicuss politics and views
Sounds good to me. I take it that you are in the Exmouth area. I think the King Ludd bookshop in Exeter would allow meetings to take place there in the evening during the week, I am not sure about weekends.. But if you prefer Exmouth that would be OK, but i think more people would come in Exeter. What do you think?

yer cool...by the way im pretty young...and it'll be quite a few years before i can drive but i'l take the train if you want a meeting
Hi
There are a lot of young people who are questioning things and hopefully some will be interested in discussing as well. I am not young nor are many of those who I know could be interested in a dicussion group. It is important that the different generations discuss with each other: a discussion forum could provide somewhere for that to happen. However, I can see that it could be difficult for young people to feel at ease discussing with older ones, if this is the case, why not get together with the people you think might be interested and discuss what you all want to do.
The best way forwards could be that I discuss with those who I know and we organise a first meeting of the discussion group, then you and those who you know could come.
Good plan, im pretty busy for quite a while but maybe in a few weeks we could get something going...or if you want to start it now i'll come when i can.
hey,
wondering if anything came of this? i'm heading to exeter in about 2 months, and i'm pretty interested.
cheers,
Cinders x
hallo...nothing has happened yet but wen u get to exeter if u want us to all meet up then we'll try and get a date @
Good stuff, cos I'm coming out from Aus to do a year of my degree down there and I don't know anyone.
And I don't imagine anarchists are going to come jumping out of the bushes at me when I get there
cheers,
Cinders x
cool, yeah anarchists are hard to find but if you meet a few they seem to come out of the wood work
Hi
I have contacted someone else who is interested and they knows someone else as well. The pressing need is to organise a meeting place and time. I will post as soon as I know, in a couple of weeks realistically.
Cinders hopefully something will be organised by the time you arrive. Nice to hear from you
Presently myself and another member of the forum are working on creating an Anarchist group in Plymouth. We would be interested in making contact with other Anarchists anywhere else in Devon and Cornwall. PM us if interested.
Interested, but I'd venture to say that I'll be too skint to even get to Plymouth from Exeter (arriving in 3 weeks now...get organised people!)
im back from holidays so im free for quite a while now. im good for any forth coming weekend
Hi Just seen this thread, as i don't use Libcom much (hardly at all), but I'll be moving to somewhere in or around exeter sometime in October.
I'm interested in the various ideas put forward. I was gonna pop into K.ludd's when i moved down see if they knew anything going on, can you Put a message up if you organise something....
cool, hope to meet you all when i move down...
hey
umm....just wondering. this King Ludd bookshop thing...any ideas on whether it's staffed by volunteers or not?
And any idea if they might need more people soon?
I'm gonna need a job when I get there...and I *don't* want to be working with a bunch of tossers!
Any ideas of good places to look for jobs? (this feels so strange on a forum about anarchism )
cheers,
Cinders x
Hi

Well, I'm certainly up for a Devon and Cornwall meetup.
Being the only AF member in Plymouth, I'm certainly hoping to establish links with other interested bods in the South west region.
If anyone is setting up a meeting, let me know, and I'll do what I can to help.

I should add that, although I am an AF member, I'm perfectly willing to work with others of all groups and none.
A non-sectarian meeting with as many different views represented as possible is what I'm looking for.
I'd also be prepared to travel, within reason.
Come on folks, let's get our fingers out and make this happen.
I propose Exeter or Plymouth as a place for a meeting, or possibly alternating between the two.
PM me if anyone's interested in actually getting this together.
i've just moved back to Devon from Nottingham where I used to meet up every week and talk about anarchy at something called Lenton's Anarchist Forum - Lenton being the area of nottingham I lived in. it acted as the launch-pad for so many good ideas and I'd definately be up for helping to set up anything similar (or completely different).
At the moment I also have a pretty open schedule and would be happy to travel to wherever. if anyone wants to meet up individually to get the ball rolling i'll be happy to track them down.
I live in Tavistock by the way. Beautiful, but less accessible than Plymouth or Exeter. I'm also of no fixed abode, sleeping on friends' floors so I can't be very accommodating.
Anyway, I'll PM my contact details to everyone who's posted here and check back regularly. I'll also rack my brains for how else to russle up anarcho-types. I've met a few around here and I'm sure I could try recruiting from amongst my old school friends.
let's make it happen.
Rather than a group or movement, what about a discussion group/forum open to all those who want to discuss an alternative to capitalism
