If you want help with a public meeting in Southampton give me a pm, I used to live there, and my parents still do and I've been spending a bit of time there recently, I've got a few sympathetic contacts who would be up for being chivvied into doing community and/or workplace stuff.

right, I'll take the plunge. I'm still trying to sort out where I stand in terms of affiliations to groups (or even if I would join one) but I would really like to talk to people rather than relying on reading. Portsmouth is not exactly a hotbed of activity (excepting our most prominent lecturer and protestor in the Uni who is part of the Socialists ) but I will happily meet with people from the hampshire area and see where it goes from there.

dee, give us a shout in brighton if you want a hand with anything. we won't press-gang you into joining, we're of the view that the more organised class struggle groups in the region the better - if you feel close enough to our politics to join, better still. any practical support you (or anyone else in the South East) needs, drop us an email at brightonsolfed [AT] gmail.com and we'll see what we can do to help.

If anyone's still looking for interested people in Southampton, then I'd be up for something. I'm at the university at the moment, and there's barely any anarchist presence that I know of there (the ASN 'contact' for the uni turned out to be a lecturer who happened to sign up a while ago). There's a libertarian society being formed at the moment, but they appear to mainly into liberalism and free market stuff... PM me if you're interested in getting something going.

Surrey & Hants Anarchist Federation had a meet-up in a Woking pub on Saturday afternoon. A couple of our members are based in Southampton and would like to get something going there. So anarchists in the Southampton area could email Surrey & Hants Anarchist Federation so we can arrange to meet.

I used to live there. I moved to london. There's lots of anarchists here, some of them are rubbish, but thats fine. It's easy to deal with the rubbish ones. You just drink more and poke them in the face until they go away.

Old Southampton socialist activist currently reading the anarchists of old. Wondering if young anarchists are willing to mingle with SP and SWP activists on direct action projects, e.g., academies, austerity, capitalist war mongering?
