Hi,
New to this board. Any Oxford anarchists use it?

I'm a near Oxford anarchist 8)
I'm in Oxford most of the time.
Hm, any Oxfordians still around?
The only anarchists I ever saw in Oxford were some middle-class types heckling a comp kid (me) for going to an elitist institution. This is going back a few years, mind.
I too am a near Oxford Anarchist. What's our next step?
Moving to London?
I have no idea, BlackNRed. To tell the truth, I am quite new to this whole thing and have no real connections around Oxford. How is the movement around here?
I'm in Oxford - for the next month or so at least, possibly longer. I'm not really an anarchist though. But I'll probably be sympathetic on most stuff. Grace is here during term time too.
What are the main issues around Oxford - apart from the animal lab that is?
John, this is close enough to London thanks, an hour from Loftus Road and not too inconvenient for the bookfair!
Maybe we could eventually meet to discuss issues and suchlike. It's been quite a long time since I've lived anywhere where I didn't feel like the only Anarchist left alive, so just a social/reading/discussion group would be a great start.
I would be all up for it, as the feeling is the same. Where precisely are you in Oxfordshire?
Near Wallingford. It takes me less than half an hour to get to Oxford.
It would be good and interesting to form some sort of group. Oxford is full of poncy students anyway, and the lab has probably brought many out in force.
Drop me a PM if you are interested. How about the rest of you that reside near the 'dreaming spires'?
Near Wallingford. It takes me less than half an hour to get to Oxford.
I live in Chinnor? I've never involved myself in anything though, as I'm shit with people and shit.
I was thinking about joining something, sort of, lol
Chinnor eh? I go through Chinnor fairly often on my way to see friends. It had always looked like a hotbed of anarchy to me! Just like the place I live!
I think that using Libcom as a way to bring some of us together would be a great idea, I reckon we'd all hate one another and agree on absolutely nothing...... at least until after the first couple of beers..... but that's no reason to be shy; nothing ventured nothing gained and all that!
Yeah don't want to commit to anything, but if you arange a meet up in Oxford, then let me know.
To be fair to Chinnor, its pretty small.
Well, it all depends on what we want to achieve. A few beers and empty threats - I am up for it!
I'm only around til september, if I pass my resits.
Is it just you and blacknred wo might be interested?
I'll mention it to a few acquaintances who I've mentioned libcom/anarchism to, who are probably even more clueless than me, but seemed interested in the idea of anarchism. May have to leave it a couple of weeks to get a reply from them.
I think we should see if some of the other people who have posted on this thread would be interested in a social gathering.
Do you mean that, I ought not to try and get some people together who aren't "libcomers"
Its probably a good idea, if you can get a few people. Thats like 7 people! Oxford is
No I didn't mean that at all! Sorry if I was unclear. I think it would be cool to meet as many potentially like-minded people as possible.
Wow Jack/Grace, that doesn't give us long. I'm a bit pushed for time between now and the 1/7, do you have a day in mind or would it just be better to figure on the autumn?
1st of July? Hm. I am in Oxford until the 5th, then back on the 4th/5th of September. So may be it would be an idea to leave it until the autumn - assuming there is still interest then.
Dreamcatcher, Lem, there's nothing to stop us getting together for a beer sometime sooner and we can try to keep something on this thread reasonably regularly..... fishing for souls.
Have we missed the window then?
Window? What window?
I think that everybody has gone home. It'd be a bit lame with just you and me
Well it seems sensible to wait for people to come back to Oxford. Nevertheless you and I could get together for a beer sometime over the summer. At the moment I live all of about 15 miles from Chinnor and I do come through there fairly often. Whadyasay?
Hmm. Could do. I'm not very good company though
Sounds
doesn't it.
I can get to Chinnor quite easily, I live close by.
Anyone else out there?
I'm an oxford anarchist 8). Oxford is a very divided city, of course...
