The argument for attending the ESF, regardless of who you are or what you represent is that its a starting point for many activists or those who are on the fringes of activism and that we should put aside our differences in order to present an image of a co-ordinated front against capitalism and disseminate ideas on how to confront the tyranny of capitalism. Thats the respect/swp/union position.
Such a theory is all well and good, but only in theory as the majority of the dominantgroups organising esf, to my knowledge, have no intention what so ever of confronting capitalism or the bosses, rather there'd be happy to see some sort of regulated, less environmentally destructive capitalism run by social workers. In the process of getting here, or 'struggling' for such a world they will happily recruit every discontent, pissed, alienated person to their cause, stick em under their ludicrously meaningless and pallid banner of 'another world is possible' and disaude them from any action or radical stance in the name of patience and reform which never arises.
The ESF will no doubt be dominated by such wankers, this shouldnt disaude people from going along and getting involved in and organising more radical events in London, theyll be shit loads of people going along looking for radical alternatives, ideas and actions, hence we need to come up with some ideas for such actions and confront the statists and middle class liberals and show up their 'alternative world' for what it is, while promoting and debating real alternatives and ideas. I, as a lazy waster do not have the conviction to organise anything, but will be down there regardless.
Lazlo you're a cheeky fucking sad sac, and you can't fucking read. What was Otto Ruhle? Are you trying to say he wrote fascism/ anti-fascism? Be a nice trick given I'm pretty sure he died in the forties or fifties at the latest. Or have you read so sloppily that you thought I was attributing that quote to Dauve/Barot? Muppet. I've read 'The Struggle A F B W T S... Against Bolshevism' and know where the quote comes from you patronising wanker. But since it was written in 39 or something and isn't as sophisticated or as braod in scope as Dauve's analysis I suggested the latter. If you're going to be such an arrogant fuck then you should be more careful b4 gobbing off, on the internet as you should in life. Stroked. Now say sorry and go stand in the corner.

Oooooh, get you!
Woodbine's hiding 'cos he's been a dick.
Woodbine's going to break you like Zhelezniakov broke the Constituuent Assembly.
You pose like a macho version of Donald Rouum, but you're arguments lack even his sophistication.
There -- you were just about to pull me up on my spelling, weren't you? So predictable.
Some would say it was your sloppy writing, others would say it was my sloppy reading. *Those* people would be wrong, of course, but I'm well known for my toleration.
Thanks for responding like the inferno of revolutionary rage that you are and actually making me feel the flames on my face.
Seriously, if I offended you I'm sorry. I just thought you could take it.
No really, soz.
Kay?
--> worried grin
Laz, I got fucking laid last night for the first time in six months. You could shove Otto's entire oeuvre up my arse along with three volumes of Capital, a situationist anthology, something by cleaver, Pannekoek's corpse and the entire German autonome movement and I'd probably think it was funny. The sun is shining, I got laid, Napper's still a virgin... The sun's still shining, I got laid. Are we okay? You're fucking right we are homeboy, you're my best buddy. You're lke a brother to me and if I ever meet you I'm going to buy you drinks till Pentacost. I got laid!! 8)

You hired your own mum for him?
Shit man, now that is friendship.
The Weekly Worker, published by the CPGB, one of those groups in full support of the ESF, recently published (slightly edited) a letter I sent in re the ESFs links with Ken Livingstone.
Perhaps Haringey residents on this board could submit a few similar letters to their local papers?
Livingstone
Pretty obviously if Ken Livingstone is making such a whopping contribution (from the council tax of Londoners’ like myself) to the European Social Forum, that money is going to come with some strings (‘Ken pays the piper and now calls the tune’, August 5).
Elsewhere in the Weekly Worker you comment that the left, and many organisations within it, are not going through the best of times. This weakness is exacerbated by giving charlatans like Livingstone the time of day, and in particular by taking their money. £300,000 could do a lot of good in a deprived borough like Haringey - why waste it on the ESF? If the left wants to be taken seriously as defenders of the working class, it should be campaigning against, not accepting, such donations.

He'll get worse if I can get my hands on the cunt.
I think you've missed revol's inory. He is lucky to have a large clitoris on his nose and also to get multiple orgasms up his jacksy.
As a steaming Scottish waster with a tendency towards toilet humour, I cannot sumarise here in a few words what Giles Dauve divulged in fascism/ antii-fascism. But u should read it, it's the damage. There's also a section of it available as a pamphlet called 'when insurrections die'. I hate the French, all of them, but I'd do him for his sexy theory.
