But yeah - wouldn't it be fantastic viewing if after the revolution we have public viewing of royalty being shot be firing squads...

I can think of a bujillion people who deserve that more tbh.

I completely agree Nick, but that also illustrates that we are also severely dehumanised and alienated until we sort his out.

Getting back on thread - does any egalitarian anti royalist have a better idea than 'storming' the palace on April 2nd? You know, a way forward against the monarchy... they're getting a hammering day after day at the minute, the zeitgeist would appear to be saying 'now is the time to oppose them politically'... grin grin red n black star

Storming the town hall?

Should be easier at least than the castle. I'll be in France, so have fun if you must...

The fact that the Royals are in a position of impotent weakness (relatively, a weak monarchy is still powerful of course) means that anti royal ideas and practice are common sense, and in Gramsci's theorisation too - 'Good Sense'.

oh get a grip you daft fucktard, the working class is taking a fucking hammering, yes we are now a bunch of cynical fucktards but that also means we are too clever and cynical to think that protesting against the royal wedding is worthwhile. In the big list of working class issues i would imagine privatisation of public services, pensions and casualisation are of far greater relevance than some posh pricks getting married.

oh and gramsci would piss himself if he knew a thick fuck like you was using his theory to back up another stuntist fuck up.

oh, almost forgot to ask, how'd Toffbusters go? Did it snowball?

Oh oh oh ho ho ho - you just noticed the working class taking a hammering? Sounds like it. Us oldies have been doing pro working class stuff like that for decades... We like to get around and suitably participate when we see fit... Gramsci would be pleased to see his ideas used - he is from a dynamic political tradition unlike the reactionary class consciousness that #### like U throw up.

Edited- because I threw in a provocation and thought I would ride out the strom, BUT I've had to edit it myself (discretion the better part of valour).

Actually revol in terms of what people talk about at the vending machine (cafeterias being way too good for the likes of most workers) the royals probably do get people more interested because it's something a bit different and glamorous.

Doesn't mean I agree with you though gangster I still think it's a waste of time, cos that relevance is on the level of Brad and Jennifer rather than on the level of actually caring whether these people are still on the throne or not.

An honest post. I can handle people who politically disagree, in fact I talk to 'racists' easier than with 'anarchists' on these boards... Does that tell you something? maybe it should.

You do bring out the worst in him, revol, he has (oddly) actually been quite bearable on here in the past few days.

I guess its time to retreat under the duvet with a red face again....

The Class War/Conflict anti-royal wedding gig is sorted for April 7th - day before the wedding - at the Cartoon Clun in Croydon with Conflict/The Lost Cherrees and more. See Conflict's website for details and also on the re-release of the Class War record 'Better Dead than wed'.
