GM Auction

(I donated the Pantera stuff ROCK!!! )

Five people were found guilty of aggravated trespass yesterday after they blockaded a Sainsbury's distribution centre in attempt to protect the public from the supermarket's GM fed milk. Four of the five were first time offenders, and yet they were given 50 hours community service, and ordered to pay £150 costs each. The punishment is regarded as being an extreme and disproportionate response, and it would appear was meted out specifically because they were rebels with a cause. To help them out with fines and legal costs, a group of friends asked for donations of odd and/or interesting items that could be auctioned. Below is the result, so please bid for anything that takes your fancy or you think would make a good present! All proceeds go to the Sainsbury's Five. Thanks.

Signed Pantera Ticket with Plectrum

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7570873414

The donator notes, "I got these from a gig in Newport, Wales in 28th September 1992. I traveled up from Devon just to see Pantera. They were supporting Megadeth at the time. At the end of their set, Pantera's guitarist 'Dimebag' Darrell Abbott threw his plectrum into the crowd and my then girlfriend caught it and gave it to me! Rock on! After the bit of the gig I went to, I went to the bar and there saw Dimebag Darrell getting a drink. I had a brief chat with him, told him the show was great (because it was) then asked him to sign my ticket, which he did. I am a little sad to part with these, but want to help the cause by donating something unique – of which I thought of this!! I guess it is doubly sad as DimeBag Darrell was shot last year by an angry fan (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dimebag_Darrell )"
