I'm sure that you heard 100,000 Civil Servants Jobs are to go in the UK. Some of you lot out there must know somebody who's one.
I am wondering if you guys, gurls would be willing to help me out on producing leaflet-urging People to Unionise at their work place. I am also hoping to urge people to send the below comment to their individual Union Rep, crippling the Labour Party Funding.
I am aware that many people who have already join the Union over the last few months are probably total unware that they are contributing to the very Party who's about to give them the boot. I am hoping to put this comment at the bottom of the leaflet, please see below.
Political Fund Exemption NoticeI hereby give notice that I object to contributing to the Political Fund of the Union and in consequence exempt, in the manner provided by Chapter 6 of the Trade Union and Labour Relations Consolidation Act 1992, from contributing to that fund
You might ask why don't I design the leaflet myself, I would exempt I don't possess a Home Computer and besides I am not particularly good at Political writing.
If anyone is willing to design an "A5" (I can do double side if needed) size leaflet with a suitable Logo (we are dealing with civil servants here!) A good write up on why we should Unionise and even a web-link if anyone willing to use their website for a campaign or a good source of information as to what we are about (Enrager??)
I will pass my e-mail addy to anyone is willing so that I can print them off by the hundreds.
PCS are not affiliated to the Labour Party, so stopping your political fund payment will make no difference whatsoever. And even in unions which are affiliated, the majority of the political fund does not go to Labour, it goes to other political campaigns, strike funds in other unions etc. To opt out is to oppose unions campaigning politically at all (except in Unison, whre there is a seperate fund for Labour)
