Cheers LW! I'm planning that if I do this well for a year or so, then I can write a how-to booklet about it so the thing can spread like a disease. I think it has some potential in terms of building the movement (not sure how yet!), as well as the obvious funding benefits. Still a lot of experimentation going on at the moment though!

Oh yeah - any suggestions/ideas/feedback or anything on these gigs is welcomed.

Well done for organising all of this Rich. You could have done with more MCR though.

It certainly does have potential for the movement!....These gig's if they spread enough could be one element of the creation of a new, and much needed public realm!

Volunteers are good mates of mine and they fuckin kick ass! Are Defaced that band from RAF Fairford?

Tacks quit being an ignorant douchebag. Anyone who likes AFI has no right to have an opinion. You're wrong anyway. David Rovics?

Volunteers are awesome! Defaced are from Lakenheath (well they're really from all over the USA). What about David Rovics? Might be putting him on soon.

Now when you got this started. Is there any other places in Norwich where you could see some HC-Punk gigs? Aaaaalso, it would be great to get known some local punk/HC bands (I have just moved here) so is there any place to buy this records ? Or is only possibility to go for gigs and buy from the members of bands ?

Hey E-P!

At the moment, in terms of promoters for punk there are Righteous Promo (punk and related), TBC Promo (punk, psychobilly, hardcore), Cutthroat (hardcore), ECK (hardcore), ELK (anything with a guitar). There are only 2 viable venues at the moment. Cricketers Rest and B2.

In terms of local bands to check out my favourites are: Punk: Sindromes, Black Veins, Kaotixx, Visual Offence. Ska/punk: Blag, Smaller Than You, Flick The Switch. Melodic Punk: 32 Frames Per Second, Arch Stanton. Others: Judder & Jack rabbits (Psychobilly), Mustard City Rockers (folk punk).

The only place I've seen any local music for sale is at Revolution records which is in town (just on the left as you go in the door is a selection of local bands). But most of the time you have to buy it at gigs.

http://www.norwichdarkside.co.uk/ is a good place place to go to find out about local gigs (though the punks don't use it much). The best punk gigs at the minute happen at Cricketers Rest, so check out their myspace to see what's on. So have you just moved to Norwich?

I was trying to disprove the moronic assertion that this was "anarcho-punk".

It was a throwaway comment that was not serious, and you've made it into two insulting posts. Well done sir, you truly live a worthwhile life - fighting the scourge of ignorance wherever it may lie.

You fucking joke grin

Yeah, I just moved to Norwich About 2 months ago. Took some time to settle down but now I thought to get active and you will probably see me in the next Norwich anarchists meeting. I have just no clue where this workingmen's club is...

More like you were trying to jump on the Libcom bandwagon and make friends by being hostile to anarcho-punk. At least when Jack does it there's an undertone of self-awareness (not to mention knowledge and savvy) due to his heritage. You probably only heard of it in the thankslist of a Green Day CD and clearly have no clue as to what it is. Which in most cases is a good thing, other than when you're trying to hold court on an internet forum about it.
