not being rude but why is there a Pro Choice demo in England? Abortion is legal and the pro lifers don't have much influence.

There's an EDM in parliament to lower the limit, and an increasing Christian influence in the cabinet.

Not sure how useful pro-choice demos are, but I can see why people might worry about it.

WTY, what is the context of the demo? Is it the EDM (was that not defeated, or was that just the first round?)

A wee bit of background would be great. I think i can make it during my lunch break though.

Basically the first bill was defeated in parliament but a private members bill will be/or has been put forward with the support of 144 MPs including Galloway, the MP for gorton in manchester, they want to lower the limit of legal abortions and make it harder to get one, even though you already have to be accepted by two doctors for one now. The demo is against the bill first and foremost and it is in teh backyard of the MP for Gorton, also it is against the growing attacks on abortion not just here but globally.
