the serious thread

Looking across the NW forum I have to say i'm shocked. Its injokes and frivolity. Now as fun as it maybe, i think we need to ask the question- one which we should always be asking- is how is this promoting working class self organisation leading to a future libertarian society?

I often look at other regional forums and feel a little envious, their heady mix of meeting minutes and vulgar reductionist marxism form the basis of a sharp theoretical tool to be used against the class enemy. And what do we have? Pictures of bears!

so can we post serious thoughts about serious things.

I washed me face an hands before I come captn.

Hey, I've just realised, I may be wrong, are you the guy that came over to Burnley once and said you'd do our anarchist website, and then did fuck all about it. You were good company that night though in the Garden Bar with me other anarchist mate.

I vividly remember you telling us all about the dissertation you were doing on 'Dicks' - how's that going. And where's our bloody website.

If you're not the person in question apologies. If you're refering to my anarchist granny picture, I bobbed that on because I was wondering where Lord Lustbuster was. I rather liked his posts, and there were some ideas and stuff he was seeing in Keighley that reminded me of Burnley. There's a point to my duff humour Captn!

Will you be coming to help us with a bit of direct action around telecommunications masts in Burnley soon, or will you be busy on the Dick Dissertation?

Keep ya hair on, Pushka sent me an email this morning with this in it -

"She's great int she...Lucy82...been reading her replies to the G8 in the

North thread, where everyone seems to be making 'snidey' remarks about the Manchester Social Forum...I noticed Lucy82 came up with a much more civilised reply encouraging compromise!".

I'd second recommendation of Lucy as moderator to North West thread - pretty pronto I'd suggest.

Mission impossible on website currently but will get back thanks. As this is a urr serious thread, I'll refrain from responding to the 'cock sucking'.

ok. no more nonsense. any of you. ever. including beanis. grrrrrrrrrrrrr. or i'll go mad with power and take down everything. forever.

ah hem. <puts down moderators deathray>

or you could see these crazy threads as a good way of increasing traffic on the northwest forum (even the southern shandy drinkers have been over for a look), and also that maybe manchester, liverpool and burnley people might meet up and cause mischief. you never know.

so i think this thread deserves an circle A so shut up

I gotta get this one in Lucy, apologies:

Phineas, urr I mean Captn Mission returns to Burnley in a blaze of glory.

"Now then village idiots, I's got someit to teach you on cock sucking, arise you fools, arise".

Do you think it's a good likeness? Phineas would be much more suitable than Captn Mission!! Is this better than Beanis's bear? You can come to our meetings every Wednesday if you're up sometime (but I'm not giving you a life home after that bloody website, you can walk, titter, and you're only welcome in't meetings if you bring the dick dissertation. Tell ya what, a quote from it 'ere would be good so us village idiots can get a taster - titter! There ain't a lot going on at the mo, we are in confidence building mode after recent, cough, trauma! But Pushka and I are bobbin down the the Hackney Solidarity Group do in June to learn from them. There's a lot of parallels there to what we're upto here in Burnley/Pendle.

Do you think that a good idea, oh mighty Phineas - suck suck. There ain't nothing I don't know already about the said topic of dissertation, or perhaps you can surprise me with ya quote grin . MS paint indeed, we want quality 'ere.

Gosh...You people are SO crazy!!! I wish I could be so witty...

Anyway, I think it would be a great idea for us all to get together, as Lucy82 suggested, Liverpool, Manchester and Burnley...would be great stuff...

Anybody care to arrange it?

sounds fun: the North-West Womble-esque Hogmanay Odelay Social Theory and Humungous Edifice of Doomesday Anarcho-Deliverance-Doers, Yesterday ('NoW WHO'S THE DADDY' for short).

It's logical really. We need a town with easy access to the motorways. A town that has a regular train service to it. A town that has a proud working class tradition. A town without premier leagure football teams. A town that means I don't have to travel very far ......

ok i've been looking at maps (oooh) and really the most central(ish) point between manchester, liverpool, burnley and the latecomers preston is....

possibly wigan (i never could draw straight lines on maps)

hmm. anyone want to go to wigan on a nice sunny day for music, drink, people and anything else we want to do? i don't know wigan. is there any good spaces there (or pubs or whatever)? or places for mischief? Moving into scouseland for recreational purposes, Formbys kindof sweet and its got sand-dunes, sea and the odd red squirrel and its easy to get to off the motorway on the way to LONDON. Further for people from Burnley though, i think. my grasp of geography is hazy. cue knightrose.

i dunno. if we met up in the evening we'd need pubs (i would anyway). in the day we'd need nice spaces. i'm kindof half serious about this. we could all hate each other and fuel enrager (oops li.c.org)) for hours with in bitchin. or maybe it'd be a good day.

basically, i'm just bored wink

Wigan is a dump.

And their football team like to pretend they are called the Latics.

Seriously, it is horrible. It's only advantage is that there is a direct train to it from Oldham.

I'm gonna be boring and say either Liverpool or Manchester...Liverpool cos I have a soft spot for the doctors there (since I was 8 smile ) and I wanna have a ride on that Yellow Submarine thingy they got going from Albert Dock....

Manchester, cos I just wanna see it again...and it doesn't seem too far from all the other places, including Burnley.
