Oldham Athletic Manager Injured As Iraqis and Muslims Clash

This is totally bizarre, but actually quite serious.

From the footage on Sky News, the fighting in Manchester appeared to be between Iraqis wishing to vote, and Pakistani Muslims, who did not wish them to vote.

The BBC article talks about it being between pro and anti- election Iraqis, but says the Oldham Athletic manager, Brian Talbot, was beaten up after his car hit a protestor.

Luck?

Don't we always beat City - I seem to remember the last time we played in Division 2 at Maine Road - 2-1 to Latics????

Anyway, now it seems like after the Lord Mayor's Show. Can't win anything.

Never mind - you will have a derby game next season - providing Macclesfield don't go up....

and the way things are going ... Rochdale and Bury too!

Only thing that keeps me cheerful is the grief that the red scum are going though at the moment.

Some latics fans have suggested that we all by a share in united and donate it to Glazer ...

I think given Oldham's last two results knightrose, you may consider silence to be the best option.....

all you "lactic" fans are forgetting the legendary stockport county. 2-1 2-1 2-1

Ain't nothing legendary about Stockport County, mate. I can only hope that was a typo and you meant 'legionary'. grin

Is thi the same Stocport County who a couple of season back had a fans competition for a new club song, and ended up with a song to the tune of "The sash my father wore....."

Finally some good news. Talbot has quit. And please don't mention Stockport County. The way things are going we'll have repeat runs of that derby next season ....

Actually, there is probably scope for a sensible discussion on football too. For in truth, I support Oldham Athletic, I don't hate any other club, I just like silly wind ups.

Any thoughts?
