Manchester Annual LibCom MiniXbus Bookfair Extravanga 2006??!

For those unfamiliar with the concept see the other thread. Last year a group of us took a minibus down to London for the anarcho-bookfair. We should do it again, I'm up for it. Anyone else?

P.S.

Bagsy not driving.

Sorry.

Are you sure? Sounds too cheap to be true. Is that including return?

that train ticket price sounds like some wanky student discount wink Plus dont forget the travel costs within London.

Spoke to Comrade J. and he said that we could hire their Class Struggle 17 seater for the day.

The price would be tad bit higher for this one time because it costs £50 to join the collective. The total cost would still be only about £140, so with only 10 participants it would be £14 a pop. More = cheaper smile

Anyways, last year it was a blast, so we could do it again.

Or just do a mass megabus ride together? that would be very cheap and we could just squat the whole bus grin

Sorry.

Wouldn't a megabus mean an overnight stay?

So is that 32 English guineas with return then, Sorry?

but hey, as far as convenient travel goes, that train ride sounds sweet... It would only be couple hours, and folks could choose their own times, like me being home before my bedtime, and the wildones coming back the next day grin

It was £11 if you got a thameslink saver on the bus, it gives you a city saver on the bus, and a return to any station on the thameslink line (london bridge). I'm not sure if it's still valid...

Looks like its gone up to £12.50, then they're now doing a southern saver http://www.buses.co.uk/frameset.html?fares/fares.html

I'd rather not be forced to take a train if at all possible. Too many horrible memories. Plus, I'd probably get chucked off. grin

Sorry.

what's happening with this then. If I wait too long on the train ticket it'll cost more...

ok, my problem is that i am a bit busy and i know it always falls on the driver to organise everything, so thats why i hesitate to commit wink

but if we can get the numbers without it becoming a stress that we get enough for it to be cheap, i dont mind doing it.

We'll discuss this on tuesdays Manchester SolFed meeting as well.

So how many would we have so far?

9 people so far.

According to lucy82s calculations we would need another 2 not to fall foul with debt collectors. Should be easy?

I think i should book the van now - though i may need to pay beforehand in which case i will be chasing everyone for a tenner (and rest can be paid on the day if we dont get enough people to keep the cost at 10 quid).
