He's not even offering the chance of a fight with loyalist/squaddie/ football firm/fascist hecklers.

Please try harder Mr McGowan.

See you all there! grin

Sorry if the Irish working-class struggle isn't cool enough for you. Presumably if this was a Palestinian march you'd be organising coaches.

Is it me or has the change to "libcom.org", awesome though it is, attracted loads of Irish republican/Celtic nationalist types? Red Celt, Bodach gun bhrieg, now Pogue Mahone... a few others I can't remember. I'm sure we never used to get them before, or did I just not notice them amongst all the assorted hippy horizontalist nutters we used to get?

Bodach gun bhrieg isn't really an irish republican/nationalist type at all despite the self confessed fixation with a near dead language. And I'm hardly gonna complain about that.

Yeah the likes of the others you mention were here before, some still are, some appear to have moved on to be replaced by others.

This Larkin post is particularly bad though - I don't actually remember an add for a platform for Sinn Fein appearing before. No critical faculties used, no debate necessary - just show up and watch the Shinners claim James Larkin as part of their heritage and let on to be lefties for an audience of eejits in Liverpool.

Harsh? Well when you consider that these socialists have implemented privatisation and the rest of the new labour neo-liberal package when Stormont was up and running, and that their nationalism can never offer any prospect of even attempting class unity across the sectarian divide (The British governemtn being assigned the role of persuader for unionism while they wait on a British withdrawal and the 'accomodation' of a million or so people who don't want a united 32 county 'socialist' republic) I don't think so no.

Calm down dears, it's only a march. No one is compelled to watch the Shinners speech - in fact i imagine most of us will be in the pub by then.

We always get Republicans coming over whenever there's a large Palestinian Solidarity thing in Manchester. I must have met 20 different people called Pedraig. And one of them was a woman.
