well unlike the last time the room was full of 'energy'. it was wonderful. It was like the end of the fifth element when the fifth element turns out to be love. that's what it was like. People also talked about how this club that did iris scans to get in was like ID and that was totally whack and we should tell people their puppets and should resist the MAN. But that's bollocks isn't it?

So we finally decided to do what we agreed to do over a month ago which is the ministry of truth this saturday- but after the meeting it'll be done with gusto. hazar!

hazar indeed! In fact three hazars. And I should have the ID cards printed, if nothing goes wrong with the printer at work.

The printer worked fine. All I've got to do now is cut up the bloody cards twisted God I hate that job

Here's what the card looks like (I hope I've done this right)

Nah, I've bought the guillotine home from work. I'll do them tonight after a couple of beers. I only printed 20 sheets - that's 160 cards, to see what the response is. If they prove popular I'll do more. And of course there's always scope for improvement and changes if we're not stuck with a huge supply. Any sensible suggestions welcome.

Just a thought, there's a .jpg copy of the card on the http://www.af-north.org website. It's on the index page, just click on it to get a decent copy.

well the ministry of truth went ok and people said ooh thats a bad thing and it costs how much??

then we were helped by the intervention of the manager of tescos complaining followed closely by agressively stupid council wardens quoting a new law they couldn't remember and then the infinately more sensible police who went err... and went away again, introducing a little british bobbie sanity into the proceedings and attracting more punters simply by their presence.

I thought yesterdays trip out with the ministry was good for all the above reasons plus people on the whole, seem to be opposed to ID (I base this on the comparitively small amount of abuse received, tres scientific!) which would indicate 'our' combined efforts are paying off. A serving soldier and en ex soldier (now a 75 year old rapper!) were both strongly opposed to the ID cards/national database and the guy from the tax office who has seen how shit civil servants are at keeping databases accurate wasn't over confident 'they' will pull off something on this scale.

Let's not use this as a reason to become complacent though and instead try and keep our new found energy and zest for harrassing shoppers going!

There's a defy ID meeting booked for this Wednesday coming at the Basement in Manchester - that's the 20th at 7.30pm. The basement is in Lever Street, just off Piccadilly Gardens.

Hey October,

Take a look at this young poster called Solaris' comments on this local Burnley Community forum, in their ID cards thread - there's some real duff comments in this thread, but some cool surprises as well. Solaris is impressive with his arguments against ID cards. I'd get on meself if I had more time.

I have the Carpenters and Harry Nilsson's greatest hits too, if that's any help? eek

That web link works for me, must be your computer! Honestly, there's a good bit of resistence to ID cards on that Burnley community webforum, just thought you'd like to pick up on it. You're rather good at that sort of thing.

I need to visit the doctor's myself shortly, I bobbed on one of your Crass cd's and I now have a perferated eardrum.
