I think calling this a "student-led uprising" is possibly a little disingenuous. Surely it's just a bunch of mobilisations in favour of AMLO, the social democratic Presidential candidate?
That said, almost every single Mexican person I know is heavily supporting it.
If it is 'a bunch of mobilisations in favour of AMLO', it's by default as it hasn't expressed a position regarding López Obredor and is primarily an Anti-Enrique Peña Nieto (EPN) and anti-PRI movement (there's a manifesto here). It's horizontal, in its early days and democratisation of the media (the meaning of which I think needs tying down) is arguably impossible within the limits of reformism...
