When Corbyn fails to effect any significant change(that's assuming he's genuine and really tries) can we assume that left labour activists will renounce parliamentary politics? I'd be very surprised if they didn't, I mean they surely wouldn't be stupid enough to stick there collective tongue deep into the arse of the next stooge that gets the job and start the whole sorry charade over again would they?

Dunno if any party activists would reject parliamentary politics so easily tbh. There's always excuses, reasons why it couldn't be done, people to blame. My auld man has been a Labour party member on and off all his life - mostly off these days - and I see him very much as the typical old labour party member - disgusted by the party but not in any particular frame of mind to reject the parliamentary system.

Socialist Action (the ex-Trotskists, now Stalinists, apparently behind the Corbyn campaign) are, of course, very happy. A few well-paid jobs for them no doubt!

Anyway, it is interesting to see from this side of the pond where we've got our own little Corbyn in Bernie Sanders. I actually passed a Sanders rally today and it does seems like the Corbyn victory has given that lot a little boost.

To illustrate just how some people (though I suspect here, person) can be daft enough to think the Corbyn victory is in some way an inroad to libertarian political organising, here's a statement of some sort from the local anarchy gang. Ed, you bastard! Why did you do that? I couldn't bring myself to watch it but I'm sure it's in as poor taste as a fucking snuff movie. Bragg should have his nuts placed lightly in a vice which the receives quarter of a turn every 24 hours for a month. Now that's a vid I WOULD watch!

More than likely, tbh I struggle to keep an eye on them. There's some decent people mixed up in there and I can't for the life of me work out what the glue is. By and large it seems like a mish mash of IWW, Class War, Left Unity, Unite the bleeding Community, Antifa and now the Labour Party. Dye in the wool anarchists, as you can understand.

That clip is so enjoyable. Watching those deluded lefty idiots has cheered me up no end. I loved seeing the moron who appears with a Che Guevara flag! The lack of comprehension on the faces of the half a dozen people when they realise that Corbyn won't be coming out of the conference is a treat too.

Well yeah I find some of the hype around him as annoying as the rest of you, but I do think his leadership of Labour presents an opportunity for the worker's movement.

In fact with the lack of any real resistance to capitalism in general, or lack of consensus as to what a real alternative can look like, or even really any unified movement that could achieve that consensus - I think that "anti-austerity" politics could help lay the foundations for a real alternative (like, say, the Chartists helped lay the groundwork for later movements) and we should get involved.

That's all Greek to me.
