AntiImperialist Guerrilla News from Afghanistan

admin: moved to the bin as contrary to the aims of the site

When America bombarded Vietnam, Vietnamese got support from the west, RAF and other leftist groups fought against imperialism. They didn't ask Vietnamese: are you religious? are you drunk motherfucker who beat women? and so on... Leftist groups were still clean from spies and showed support for people who are attacked by western politicians and army (military wing of corporations).
Today, leftists spend 2000 euro for laptop instead for a gun, 2000 euro for holiday on Tenerifa, and with such luxury life, they cry:
"there is no sense to put ass in the fire and take a risk, we must spread idea... during government kill millions of people, but hell yeah, it is far away and not beside us. my friend didn't stay without legs, than somebody 10 000km far away and TV didn't show horrible pictures from the war. so, we must shout against government and nothing more than it, or... I will not get money and career from secret service. We must make happy community and nothing more than it, honestly said, or our ass will come under repression."

here are news about present fight in afghanistan, by those ordinary people who decided to fight against stronger enemy, and yes, those ordinary people are religious and it helps them to connect and organize, they shout name of god when they make actions, and that's their private life, in my country people also say: god help; when they do something dangerous.
the only help peasants have against riches in that country: talibans. yes, western made them to look like black sheeps but they are the only one who help to peasants when rich man take water channel or simply take animals from poor men, talibans give justice to the people (they beat rich man and give back what is taken) and therefore people support them. government and riches are together (with america), against poor. western rich leftists also make poor people to be black sheeps to justify their western rich way of life, bla bla about revolution, but no balls to attack police or military.

Libcom is a political website, the "com" stand for communism. Its probably best to discuss your standup routine here: http://www.comedy.co.uk/forums/performance_discussion/

It could just be that mammamia is serious about all this. In thaty case, a somethat more serious answer might be in order that "piss off". Though I can feel the irritation behind that advice. But I think the question and the indignation behind it is genuine, and deserves a serious reply.

To begin to provide part of an answer to mammamia (and she/ he wil not be the only one with ideas like this; five years ago it could have been me, at least in some of the underlying sentiments)...The thing is that anti-imperialism was just as rotten in 1968 as it is now. My rejection of supporting the Taliban is NOT that the Taliban is bad, while the NLF in Vietnam were good. BOTH were oppressive state-forming organizations, capitalist ruling classes in the process of formation, both were players withing imperialism, not against imperialism. Both were supported and used by imperialist powers: Russa, in the case of the NLF; Pakistan en Saudi Arabia, on behalf of the CIA, in case of the Taliban's first rise to power in 1996; Pakistan at this very moment (which is a weaker imperialist power in its own right) today.

The whole idea that the guerrilla in Afghanistan is in any sense liberatory is wrong. Yes, imperialist occupation should be opposed, the right of people (not "A People" which is a nationalist category; no, just "people"; ) ) to armed resistance should not be denied. But that doesn emphatically NOT mean that Taliban ans similar forces deserve support. Their vitory would replace one form of capitalist reaction and oppression by anotg her one. Been there, done that, no solution.

By the way, the idea that the "Leftist groups were still clean from spies" in the old Viennam-era days seems more than a bit naive and uninformed.... Search under "Cointelpro"on your search ingine, and you know what I mean.
