... who will be there?
kpk is going to have a presentation about anti-roma demonstrations and their connection with the government reforms:
Crisis, Anti-Roma Riots and the Czech Working Class
In 2011, northern Bohemia was swept by a wave of anti-Roma demonstrations and riots. Based on interviews we conducted with the participants, we will investigate the reasons that brought them to the streets, as well as the ambitions they had. We will situate the riots in the context of anti-workers policies of the Czech government and of the inability of workers to counter them. The growing anti-Romaism is itself a result of the weakness of class struggle, further weakening the ability of workers to defend themselves against the bosses and the state.

Refuse the blackmail “either work or health”
In July, Italian justice ordered the closure of the big Ilva steel mill in Taranto because of an environment risk of cancer. A united front of bosses, unions and parties rejected the decision in the name of defending the company and work. But a minority of workers created a committee to refuse this blackmail. In doing so, they revived the spirit of Italian struggles from 1968 to 1977, when, against the unions, workers in dangerous workshops at a big chemical facility in Porto Marghera forced the bosses to pay them for doing nothing.
