hello v, might try and get to that at the irish centre, cheers. bournbrook is down the bristol road, virtually opposite birmingham university, dead easy to find. i went there saturday to the open meeting, it looks a really positive place and there was a good representation of the community there i felt, not just a few crusties! grin lol, only kidding. hopefully i'll be able to get my dj classes there up n running.

do a search on Indymedia or a corporate search engine and you too could 'know' Ger Francis.

In Birmingham, Ger Francis ex-SWPie full time employee is still renowned for his personality disorders and his ability, virtually single-handed to split the anti-war movement in Birmingham in order to exclude working class socialists like Steve Godward and more secular activists from the South Asian community. Ger and his cronies also tried sometimes unsuccessfully to hi-jack grass roots activism like the S26 collective and other related stuff. He's got this shite Midas touch, so much so I think I recall he was denounced as a liquidationist by none other than the Central Committee of the SWP. Some of the left in Brum have also questioned whether he's on Special Branch's or some other tentacle of the secret state's pay roll because of his destructive history.

Other people blame the christian brothers at his seminary who could have been a bit too 'hard' on Ger in his youth...

He's an A one example of a sad, deluded professional Trot parasite.

Anyway how did it go? Did they manage to hijack and distort Chomsky and Ben? Did that condescending prick Rees tell the Muslim community to be afraid...very afraid?

What are they feeding people now in Brum, now that they haven't got the election to push?

I only met ger a couple of times, he was the one who signed me up to the SWP (dont worry, a long time ex member now!). But i really wouldnt have had him down as a special branch operative! Seemed nice enough, but as i say i only met him a couple of times.

Didnt make it to the meeting, hit the pub instead.

hey i was young and naive, thought the swp was something subversive and exciting, but shit, if mi5 had an operative in the organisation, are they more subversive than thought, or are m15 just very intrusive? sorry thinking out loud, fucking stupid question!
