Action against the olympics took place at ULU last night, and official meeting (with a gold medallist) was prevented from taking place and the fearless direct action group, expecting a huge crowd turned up only for there to be a tiny audience.. oh well. http://www.indymedia.org.uk/en/2004/12/302820.html

The IOC base much of their decision about which city hosts the games on the enthusiasm of the residents of each city. I think the fact that only about 6 people were interested in yesterday's meeting and that we successfully disrupted it made clear many people oppose the Olympics in London, and the majority are probably apathetic at best. If we can do the same on a much grander scale in February then this is a winnable fight
Would be good to do something around the Olympics. I know there's an IOC meeting (or something
) scheduled for February 2005 in London. Any thoughts?
