Indonesia's Aceh punks shaved for 're-education'

Saw this on my bro's FB page sad

Quote:
Dozens of young men and women have been detained for being "punk" and disturbing the peace in Aceh, Indonesia's most devoutly Muslim province. They are being held in a remedial school, where they are undergoing "re-education"...

I find crusties to be pretty intimidating myself, maybe it's just me though.

Nice to see the Sharia cops speeding up the punk-skinhead evolutionary timeline.

But skinheads were around before punks. Which means that this is a historically regressive action. Punks must progress through the stage of hardcore and then into the phases of decadence and decomposition represented by post-hardcore, emo and pop-punk in order to lay the ground for a true proletarian musical revolution.

Which is prog rock and art rock, going full circle.

Anybody on the way from hardcore to pop punk is going backwards.

Rebuilding the 'authentic' hardcore scene, like rebuilding the 'authentic' labour party, is a counter-revolutionary illusion.

I don't think anti-crusty sentiment is because of trying to seem like a normal relatable prole, but that it can be frustrating to be surrounded by people who all believe in living righteously (which seems to be idealization of poverty) to promote anarchism, all dress even more the same than people in "mainstream" culture, and enforce a sort of crust punk personality that restricts what you can and can't like to be part of the crust scene. at least that's how I feel.

There's currently a bunch of crusties hanging around at what is left of Occupy Newcastle, they mostly seem to be as working class as me, and are probably poorer, that doesn't stop them having shit politics however.

And what Zenkka said.
