1916, Anarchism and left republicanism

The first of a series of articles the WSM is publishing on 1916 is now on indymedia at http://www.indymedia.ie/article/75404 The one is based on the talk given at the anarchist bookfair but with quite a bit of additional material added in. We hope to have a lot more articles published over the next 6-9 months, in particular around the anniversary's of significant events in that period. These will be collated on a web page as they are published and then as a pamphlet.

For those who find the article a bit long to read online, or if you want to pass on a copy we've produced a 3 page PDF version which you can download from http://www.struggle.ws/pdfs/pamphlets/1916.pdf

I'm in the process of putting together a PDF pamphlet using the article above. I like putting in highly critical attacks as quotes on the cover as a way of pulling people in. I have a couple from the indymedia thread denouncing the article as unionist (below) so for the sake of balance I could do with a couple attacking it as nationalist. Existing quotes below

Quote:
“The whole thing is written from a defacto unionist standpoint”

“The author ignores the fact that the Irish working class have supported national unity through out the 90 years since the 1916 revolution.”

please do. for balance in criticism if nothing else. its part of Joe's unusual vanity to put people saying nasty things about him on his pamphlets. You should see his primmo one. Try to do better.
