I have a similar, though much less intense, feeling as I did when I finished Capital. I feel like I've completed a long journey and learned a lot. Congratulate me and bow before my intellectual superiority!!! *

*I'm definitely, definitely kidding. Though I am proud to have finished the trilogy.

I have a lot greater understanding of the Russian Revolution. The psychological motivations of the major players are a lot clearer.

To balance the claim he makes in ...Unarmed that, after the Civil War "the proletarian dictatorship was triumphant but the proletariat had nearly vanished" I would strongly recommend Simon Pirani's The Russian Revolution in retreat.

yes it is a good read...

but anyway, one's don't need to read anything to see that the triumph of a "proletrian dictatorship" which declares the proletariat "vanished" is somewhat suspect.... of course if really the proletariat has vanished it is nonsense to talk about the triumph of a "proletartian dictatorship"...

Absolutely, piter.
