A blunder by an undercover policeman has revealed how the Metropolitan Police spied on the private lives of members of an anti-capitalist group.

Quite amazing fuck up by this undercover which blew his cover. Are Globalise Resistance another SWP front btw?

Yeah GR was the SWP's anti-summit front group.

Yeah, but Guy whatsisname who was the SWP paid organiser who ran GR left the SWP, and in general GR is now an assemblage of generally non-SWP affiliated independents who, as one participant told me on the march on sat, are now looking for a clear purpose.

So does this mean that the SWP have had the name and photograph of an undercover for 6 years and not told anyone about it? That looks pretty shitty to me.

Am I wrong in thinking they have only just re-activated?

I wondered why there were several GR flags around on the 26th. I'd assumed the SWP had found a box mouldering away in the basement or something.

Taylor was part of the Rees/German/nineham split. I read Weekly Worker for the lefty gossip embarrassed.

Would any of these independent non-SWP people actually be from Counterfire? It would explain why a grouping that had been dormant for years suddenly had several people literally under its banner.

don't know, but i wouldn't be surprised. The only thing is, Counterfire seem to love the promotion of the 'Counterfire' brand

The former SWP central committee member John Rees (counter fires ideolgical leader) was a critical member for a long time (stop the war coalition and respect).
