"When a person becomes a policeman, he has sold his class interests, he has crossed a class line, he is in the paid employment of the ruling class, he is a part of the private army of the ruling class which exists for the sole purpose of defending private property and profits."

[Jenre]
Every day man, they're looking for a hoodie to pull
It must be that the fuckery were bullied in school
And as you live you get colder
So they put the police number next to the chip on their shoulder
No Scully or Mulder, they're cold and they're corrupt
They hide behind their badge when they roll like little thugs
So it's bound to erupt, and when the pigs just flip
The 999 turns 666
Reminds me of the world that we live in again
Police get holidays for killing innocent men
It's just age old power, blood, greed and lust
MPs they protect these thieving fucks
While they demonise benefit cheats & such
Preaching guff
Like how the filth are gonna clean us up?
Acting mean & tough, it's so feeble
They even turned man's best friend on the people

ACAB
ALL COPS ARE BASTARDS
ALL COPS ARE BASTARDS

[Bob Savage]
...Yo, bored to a standstill
Wile E Coyote rap, ordering anvils
Your evidence mountin' is more of an anthill
I'll torture the kop like four-nil at Anfield
Leave police forces corpses on landfills
French Revolutionaries, Storming La Bastille
Yo... it's unpleasantly surprising
The 21st Century peasantry uprising
Farm hands go in mad heavy
Nestor Makhno with plans ready
Framed by the state, Sacco & Vanzetti
Bebop or Rocksteady, Splinter your group
Leave lots of shops sweaty, stinking of zoot
...Bobby Charles De Menezes
No smiley culture, I snarled when I said it
Watch Prince Charles get beheaded, now start running cops
Ian Tomlinson's back, with Mark Duggan socks!

ACAB
ALL COPS ARE BASTARDS
ALL COPS ARE BASTARDS

[Jenre]
I had a vision of more
I feel like living's a chore
I make beats, write bars, never written a score
All they give us is war
Stealing's only a sin if you're poor
The rich don't get pigs who wanna kick in their door
It's overcorrupt
They say the system doesn't work, but you know that it does
They get richer every day, we get totally fucked
That's design, that ain't broken or bust
Now they're hoping to crush...
...and take back what remains
of hard-won and now forgotten gains
I see a lot has changed
It's not the same, but we don't wanna return
Just rebuild stronger from lessons we've learned
Shit I gotta admit, I got a deep yearning
To see PCs and MPs burning
In the world that we make, there'll be no work for a wage
A world that makes every dead cop turn in their grave

This is fucking sick!

You know, I'm ex-punk who now listens to old American folk, but seriously, this is the type of music we need to be making if we want to be culturally relevant. Well done.

Love it! And it's also nice to hear my old, home town accent, so don't take the piss, Snipfool! As far as I'm concerned it's gurt lush smile

You drew my attention to Chili's post so I've now downed it aswell.
What a hipster sellout abandoning punk for folk. No true anarchist can listen to folk as its not the authentic sound of our times. Punk however is the true non-nostalgic sound of the moment!

That is, if you count the more recent developments such as the fabulous new song "soundtrack to a brawl" by the fresh band Doom currrently playing in my headphones smile

I've just downed Chilli as well - nothing to do with punk or folk, it's just about a year ago when I was being a dick, he called me a dick. What an asshole!
Anyway, downing Chilli seems to be trending right now and I gotta stay hip.

As for punk, we all know that it's all about anarcho punk? Right?

I downed that comment cos I found "this is the type of music we need to be making if we want to be culturally relevant" off putting in a way I can't really put into words eloquently right now, maybe one of you'll draw it out of me if you're interested enough to probe further. I like the QELD track and I have no hang ups about punk or American folk. No hard feelings Chilli? I think you're generally a great poster!

I do think more anarchist music which isn't punk would be a good thing

Nothing against punk though smile

iexist, you have succeeded in making me down my own post!

No hard feelings Snip, I've downed posts for far less!

FWIW, it's largely in response to my frustration of experiencing much of anarchism (especially American anarchism) as basically an extension of a musical subculture. And I mean, shit, punk is probably a large reason I came to anarchism, but if music can bring people to anarchism*, well then anarchists should make an effort to actually engage with the music that is actually popular with a large section of the working class. And bravo to QELD for doing just that!**

*The larger point here, of course, is that it's practical activities that should attract people to anarchism, but I imagine we're all probably in agreement with that already.

**Note here the way that a punk youth quickly turns to middle class patronizing in adulthood.

I bloody did down vote you, on post#15. I use my down votes sparingly, but have another one for not being bothered to scroll up tongue
And so far I've refrained from down voting Chilli but I've just remembered the fish and chips abomination, so take that!

Ah, thanks for that! The thing is though, under the new system you should have voted me up for being such a fucking knob!

Bob - sorry for derailing the thread with silly shenanigans. Great track as usual.

Cooked - checked out the Doom track. Loved the long intro thingy and the music was a proper bit of me! Not feeling the vocal though.

I have no idea what's going on here.

Tbh with you we DONT really do music popular with anyone! We do a very early 90s style hiphop with anarchist lyrics and Bristolian accents. It's hardly NSync!

But yeah cheers for viewing everyone.

QELD are awesome. I've listened to 'Bad Things' probably twenty times since first hearing it two days ago. I already have a soft spot for simple funk/soul beats, I used to thrash Skinnyman's album. A bunch of my friends who have heard you think you're great too, friends who are lefties but not the type of lefties who will like something just because it's political.
