Clegg's Youth Contract - workfare?

I've got a Youth Contract meeting next monday, is that workfare? If I don't attend I lose a week's JSA and ergo have no income....

Quote:
In response to the challenge of youth unemployment the Government announced a £1billion Youth Contract to help young unemployed people get a job. The Youth Contract, which launched in April 2012, will provide nearly half-a-million new opportunities for 18-24 year olds, including apprenticeships and voluntary work experience placements.

It also marks a substantial increase in the support and help available to young people through the Work Programme, Jobcentre Plus and sector-based work academies.

Supporting the Youth Contract could benefit your business in many ways including financially. A wage incentive may be available if you take on a young person through the Work Programme or Jobcentre Plus in eligible areas.

Yup. If they're forcing you to work for nowt under threat of starvation then I'd say that falls within the definition
