SALFORD OASIS ACADEMY MEDIACITYUK RIOT OVER REDUNDANCIES
I've just read about this story in the Salford Star and may post it on libcom as a news article. If I accredit it to the paper at the bottom, it's not copyright correct?

Yea it would breach copyright. You're allowed a certain amount of words as a quote from a given article (about a paragraph iirc) to back up your point but otherwise it should be your work. In practice this means you can do a quote/link forum post or just reword the same information.
If you credit the paper it's still breaching copyright afaik.
However I believe you can do something like "The Salford Star reported that .... summary..." and that counts as fair use.
Someone like Rob Ray would be able to provide advice that's not half-remembered/made up.
