Tommy Ascaso the timing of this is awful. New Cross will be utterly devoid of students. If you'd held it 2 weeks earlier or later, we'd have been able to convince 1/2 of Goldsmiths to come by telling them it was electroclash etc etc. As it is, I can't even make it myself.

Actually quite a few students have been going to that New Cross Inn shit...although I'd never go myself. OK, well I guess the proof's in the pudding. I still think that the Friday before Christmas is gonna be a struggle though.

regardless of the gentle "tragedy gold" flyer above, this event does highlight some serious confusion currently prevailing within the libcom owners camp.

If the only way libcom can financially support itself (and keep itself operational) is by employing the services of a notoriously anti-union, anti-workplace organising multinational like Amazon, or tragically and farcically a bunch of crusty hippy squat lifestyle punks then I think a serious reassessment is needed.

Posting up an endless string of strike news culled from the BBC website and/or edited down fragments of political history from across cyberspace does not make you a political entity. Your politics should be defined not by just what you add to your library but how you choose to function as a political enterprise.

If Libcom is supposed to be a class struggle based operation committed to work place struggles then it should engage on that premise when seeking to fund itself.

It seems a little odd and unconvincing that a bunch of squatter punks whose circled a lifestyle we ridicule and regularly hold in contempt should be underpinning the very existence of this website.

This isn't to criticise Tommy Ascaso and his squatter mates, it is though bleeding the irony a little dry when the only time libcom do something in the real world its due solely to the abilities of those they claim to despise.

Are the libcom boys going to be doing the door for this event because I would happily pay the entrance fee to watch them engage with the headjam fanbase (one of whom adorns the "tragedy gold" flyer above).

Soz I can't make this - already have two possible commitments that night that clash as it is..Also, as Alan says, the timing isn't great cos by Fri lots of peeps - even if they are not students - for example, Joseph - will have left to visit relos..

Good luck with it tho and hopefully you will do another.. like both flyers but have to say that, yeah, the caffeinated ones version DOES have the edge..

They simply saw it as an opportunity to exploit a contradiction in capital: that they can glean some of Amazon's profits off them by twisting the rules a little.

I use the internet for my work and spend no more than 5 mins on libcom as there is not much of interest apart from the PHD carrying armchair revolutionaries and anarcho-office boy bootlicks.

If you really want to know how we suggest to interact within the realworld and communicate with tens of thousands of working class people in London then watch out in 2007 for a massive new initiative we are launching - and its not an "another action".

hey, just a shot in the dark here, but anyone in the inn maybe a month and a half ago, there was this mostly instromental band and on the screen behind them they had this video of these two dogs playing in a feild. It was mesmorizing. Anyone know the name of the band.
