How long do you have to stand on one leg under the new police tests for driving under the influence of drugs?

A: 30 seconds on one foot

B: 30 seconds on each foot

C: One minute on each foot

It's bad enough trying to stay still on one leg when sober...

I don't like the bit about keeping DNA even if you haven't done anything wrong. That's human rights that is.

I'm 95% sure it's been tested and it's not.

yeah, you're right sad

i was doidn a bit of a search last ngiht and found a report on it - will see if i can find it again.....

i am pretty sure that they can't take your DNA for offences like highway obstruction, but at the rate they are taking away any tiny remaining bits of our cicil libertied i wouldnt be fucking suprised if it has changed and it is now an offence punishable by ten years in prison roll eyes

I got 5, but with the Penknife the beeb are wrong

The answer was A

If the knife has a locking blade or is longer than three inches, you can be arrested and charged with carrying an offensive weapon, which carries a maximum penalty of six months in jail.

Firstly swiss army penkife does not have a locking blade and the blade on an average penknife is not 3 inches....... so with that revised 6 i suppose grin

Its pretty sick with the DNA stuff....but hahah if my future son gets caught spraying his own name on a wall well I sure failed along the line....what an idiot roll eyes

The police can have a mouth swab from me any time they like, but they'd better check there's a cure for getting your fingers bitten off before they try it.

There's NO way whatsoever resisting will get you anywhere.

what evidence are you basing that comment on?

Why the fuck would you resist,

er, to stop them getting your dna roll eyes

Quote:
f doing so will gain you nothing, but will give them something else they can charge you with, give them a (legal) excuse to be violent to you,

i refused to let them take mine (they pulled my hair out in the end) and i didnt get charged with anything. don't have any scars to prove it either smile

and cause them to be far bigger cunts to anyone you've been arrested with.

been nicked with a bunch of people, one of whom resisted, didnt affect how they treated the rest of us IMO.

iirc they gave up trying to get the dna in the end.

If you're going to go and do something you can get arrested for, then act like a fucking adult and accept the consequences. Trying to resist them taking your DNA, when the chance of you succeeding is somewhere alongside the chance of the police station being blown down by a hurricane is fucking stupid, and really irresponsible to advocate on a public forum.

oh sorry for expressing a different opinion roll eyes

I think jack's point is.... once they've got you in the nick... instead of making life harder for yourself why not just let them have your gob or whatever so they can do the shit and get it done with....

If you resist, you're fucking asking to get beaten up and have NO right complaining if that happens.

you think thats ok then?

you think its ok for cops to beat up anarchists who don't bow down to their authority.

the cops need to get the authority of an inspector to use force to get DNA if a detained person refuses to give it willingly.

that permission is not always granted, so why give your dna when you don't have to?

as i have said i know that refusing and resisting has worked on occassion (i also know of occassions where it hasnt)

i think depending on the situation it can be worth refusing and resisting dna, prints and photographs.

But if you bite their fingers, they'll have a copy of your dental records instead wink

Anyway, of course it's not "ok" for that to happen, but why bother resisting it when assaulting a cop now has an automatic custodial sentence? Cops have been known to use whatever force they please (and if you end up dead sure won't be them who get the blame) especially when inside police stations, so why bother? I can see wheer you're coming from as a matter of principle tho.

I'm with Jack. Literally...

Ok not really but he's completely right. It's about time anarchists starting living in the real world instead of believing that they somehow get different rules. Word up: the police are cocks, laws are repressive, we all know this. However, if you wanna foment any sort of viable and plausible resistance to the current status quo and somehow implement any iota of social change, you'll have to be realistic and think through your actions fully.

Once you've been nicked, that's it. Your immediate priority is getting through the procedure and out the nick ASAP with as little charges and problems hanging over your head as possible. Attempting Rambo V: Sly Becomes An Anarchist And Single-Handedly Defeats An Entire Police Station Full Of Cops is about as useful as strapping explosives to your chest and walking into your local Starbucks. In fact, I'd rather you blew up the really annoying Costa in my town if you wanna do dumb things that will fuck up your life.
