Army recruitment drive...

anyone else noticed that the army have really stepped up their recruitment drive for troops? Apparently the TA is looking for 7000 new troops in order to stem the growing numbers of deserters in the light of the war in iraq. In brum there has been a poster campaign coupled with troops on the streets trying to persuade anyone who looks young enough to sign up. A lot of the posters have had stickers plastered over them denouncing the war in iraq and tony blair etc. Would it be a good idea to get a pamphlet out suggesting reasons why not to join the army, it could be called 'Fight the rich, not their wars, 10 reasons not to join the army' and we could then hand them out to people outside recruitment offices and anywhere where officers are campainging for recruits.

I think this leaflet is excellent and could be used anywhere, we would just need to be able to change the contact details on page two, don't know how to do that though embarrassed nice one WAG

Anti recruitment stuff is pretty big in the US - I'm supposed to be getting involved with it soon. There is a large amount of material about/against it, some of which will also be applicable to the UK.

One of the best leaflets I've seen in a long time. 8)

I don't know if this still happens, but a few years back, the army was directly recruiting in Job Centres. So that would be somewhere else to target if it's still going on, as well as recruitment centres, etc.

And to magnifico -- yeah, pdfs are a pain in the arse, aren't they? sad

I dont even have the equipment to download them, nor the cash to spend umpteen hours trying to download said equipment! Would really appreciate it if someone knows where there is a standard version of the article.
