Quite fancied this do til i read the forum postings.
Any uncliquey less judgemental folk likely to come, or do you have to have known everyone for not less than 5 years and agree with whoever is top of the hierarchy to avoid a pointless night?

Less cliquey and judgemental than who?
TBH I think you've not really "got" the boards. I haven't known anyone on here for five years - most of us have never met each other and we seem to rarely agree on anything!
But welcome to the boards anyway

I'm going, but I'm very cliquey and judgemental. In fact I'm judging you right now. I'm only going in an attempt to shag my way to the top of the heirarchy anyway.

well aren't we a negative nancy
Arsebandit -
Just out of interest who is at the top of the hierarchy in your opinion?
arsebandit has a point, you may dismiss it and continue as it is, or think about it for a bit...
anyways, looks like i'm goping to miss the pub brawl because my bus heads back at 20.00 already. Hope to see some of you at the fair though! I'll wear some loud vegan shirt for the honour of redyred
I think I'll wear this one just for you:

Good point and the answer is yes.
Yes to which question?
Arsebandit -Just out of interest who is at the top of the hierarchy in your opinion?
We could do a who rools the roost - enrager special to find out.
On Cliqueness:
Arsebandit, JDMF and Smith - pick up on this point of cliqueiness etc.
Yeah i think its a problem and yes i have no idea how to tackle it.
TBH i think of it as a problem generated from the very way internet discussion works, which doesnt really resemble real life conversation.
People see it as open, but obvioulsy people find different ways to interact and bond inf different ways creating different cliques. Maybe its impossible to get rid of?
Yes you can critisise... but Arsebandit you arent doing anything to solve it, you arent even generating intelligent ideas about it.
There more people who get involved with the idea that they want to see how we interact chnaged the better... and it would be cool if u all came to the social
There's another way of putting it
I would come but I look kinda "punk" so you'll all probably ridicule me all night. Which is OK, but I go red and start shouting random insults and I'm drinking I'll probably say something horrifically un-PC.
Be nice to meet people from Colchester, have family down there now.
Well I'll see how I feel on the day and depending on how those around feel me about it. Most likely I'll fancy a drink after dealing with the mess that is anarchism...
so after spending the whole day surrounded by anarchists you want us to spend the evening surrounded by them aswell
i doubt it, i think i'll stay for 20 minutes then piss off and do something interesting
john
Hmmm why don't we make this at 6pm instead? Then people who have to get buses can still come, and people who want to attend 6 o clock meetings can too?
this alright?
Yes to the question of uncliquey people going to the pub.
rkn made some good points including that of generating intelligent ideas. revol goes on to say people should wise the fuck up. So much for intelligent ideas.
The problem I saw when first reading this thread was whether this meet was for like-minded people to gather and communicate at a convnient time and place (a pub near the bookfair on the evening of the 27th), or whether it was for regular posters on this forum to meet each other for real.
Nothing wrong with the latter, but there is a difference.
rkn said the more the better. Sounds good. See you there.
I will most likely be there. 8)

Excerpt from genuine conversation that took place today:
Jess: what time's the Bookfair finish??
Me: I dunno...the Enrager's social's at 6pm I think.
J: Oh yeah...I'm not going to that, I like the idea of people thinking I don't exist
M: *sighs and awaits inevitable jokes*
